THE GLASSPACK

glasspack
The Pack, as fans have come to know them, burst onto the local scene in early 2000. From the moment you press play Dirty Women explodes right out of your speakers, slaps you in the face and asks you if you want more. It's not subtle, but what in Kentucky is?

FOREE "GUITAR" WELLS

foree
"Albums like this are supposed to be a watershed event of sorts in the lives of blues artists: a collection of their work, finally issued for public presentation and review: a threshold of excitement, anticipation and accomplishment. But for Foree Wells, this is not the case. Foree died on January 8, 1997, just before this album was first scheduled for release. Rather than a threshold, this work, for Foree, his family, and friends, is a testimony." - Perry W. Aberli, Kentuckiana Blues Society

A.M. SUNDAY

amsunday
Just as their hometown of Louisville, Kentucky is the junction for roads from music towns like Chicago, St. Louis, and Memphis, A.M. Sunday is the intersection where meet Aretha Franklin, Talking Heads, James Brown, and The Clash. It's indie rock on a collision with west end soul. It's rhythm and blues by ex-punks playing 9th chords - just don't call them a funk band.

Marion Square

marion
“A few words to describe Marion Square: atmospheric, electroacoustic, at times mellow, other times intense, but always melodic. Their sound and approach to making music recalls the seventies. They have been called the new Fleetwood Mac. Others say Coldplay with female vocal. They worship Radiohead. Marion Square is a band full of promise for the future, as all members are in their early twenties, and possess talent beyond their years. They float from instrument to instrument, with Ian now on guitar, maybe Brian or McCall on piano. Their material leaves one wondering how a group of artists so young can express a musicality so refined.”
